Job Title:
Ph.D. CandidateFormal Position Within the Project:
Research StudentPrimary Activities on the Project:
Primary activities on the Programme Grant include validating the feasibility of using metalenses in focus variation (FV) instruments, as well as designing, evaluating, and optimizing metalenses tailored for FV systems. The work further involves refining existing focus variation algorithms to align with the metalens system and developing calibration procedures. Additionally, an ultra-compact focus variation measurement system based on metalens imaging and wavelength scanning is being demonstrated.Professional Bio:
Pengqian Yang is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Huddersfield, specializing in optical metrology. His research focuses on miniaturizing focus variation sensors using metasurfaces. He has received the Research Scholarship from the Worshipful Company of Scientific Instrument Makers. He is skilled in using tools such as MATLAB and OpticStudio, which support his work in optical design and experimentation.
