James Williamson received his BEng degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Surrey in 2012 and a PhD degree from the University of Huddersfield in 2017. Since completion of his PhD James has focused on automation of electro-mechanical systems within his areas of interest: miniature spectrometers for applications in white light interferometry, metamaterials for surface topography measurement and, photonic integrated circuit spectrometers for metrology purposes.
